Movie Review: The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (possible Spoilers)

IMDB Summary "I was born under unusual circumstances." And so begins 'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button,' adapted from the 1920s story by F. Scott Fitzgerald about a man who is born in his eighties and ages backwards: a man, like any of us, who is unable to stop time. We follow his story, set in New Orleans from the end of World War I in 1918 to the 21st century, following his journey that is as unusual as any man's life can be. Directed by David Fincher and starring Brad Pitt and Cate Blanchett with Taraji P. Henson, Tilda Swinton, Jason Flemyng, Elias Koteas and Julia Ormond, Benjamin Button is a grand tale of a not-so-ordinary man and the people and places he discovers along the way, the loves he finds, the joys of life and the sadness of death, and what lasts beyond time.

This was a wonderfully made movie. Just like Brad Pitt's wife Angelina movie "Changeling". I was thinking that they both made very intriguing movies and I enjoyed them both very much.

Anyway back to the movie. Brad Pitt plays the main character Benjamin who was born an old man and as he ages he gets younger instead of older. In the turn of events he falls in love of course.

The only part of the movie I was not too fond of is when he meets the woman he loves when they are both 7 and he is an old man, that to me was a bit disturbing but after they both were growing, it got easier to deal with LOL!

When they were both in their mid-twenties they finally got together and did it, I though the leading female character played by Cate Blanchett seemed all too excited to sleep with Brad Pitt period! LOL! Whether or not on film LOL! At first I was apprehensive about Cate Blanchett playing Brad's love interest but then I warmed up to her and felt she was good for the role.

I thought it was sad when his mom died, she loved her baby Benjamin when no one else did. I also thought it was ironic for him to grow up with a bunch of old people considering he himself, was old when he was born.

Watching the movie also wanted me to go sailing or do something with the water a little bit, since I have never gone sailing.

When Cate Blanchett's character got pregnant, I was surprised for one the baby survived and two, that he was the father through the whole movie to this child, from the beginning of the movie.

It was a long movie - 3 hours long. But I know I will buy it when it does come out on DVD. The movie was also nominated for 5 Golden Globes!

I get 5 Stars! :)

Restaurant Review: Z'Tejas

When we arrived we got a seat right away, so no wait. Which was nice since it looked like a nice looking restaurant when we stepped in.

Our waitress was also very attentive to our refills and request for anything additional.

For an appetizer they brought us this delicious Corn Bread. OMG it was so good and on this little skillet. I wanted more but I wanted to save my appetite for dinner.

We had ordered a Chicken Smothered Burrito with a side of sour cream and guacamole. I thought the Smother Burrito reminded me of the Mayan Chimi that we had shared and ate. It was good and easy to eat. I wish it would have some other type of red sauce or more of it. It didn't seem to have enough red sauce and it said it was "smothered". So that was a little disappointing. :(

For Dessert we had a Cranberry Tres Leches Cake. It was pretty good, it seemed a little flaky. But it was still really good.

Overall it was a pretty decent restaurant, not my favorite but I would go there again. :)

DVD Review: The House Bunny & Spoiler

IMDB Summary When Shelly, a Playboy bunny, is tossed out of the mansion, she has nowhere to go until she falls in with the sorority girls from Zeta Alpha Zeta. The members of the sorority - who also have got to be the seven most socially clueless women on the planet - are about to lose their house. They need a dose of what only the eternally bubbly Shelley can provide... but they will each learn on their own to stop pretending to be what others want them to be and start being themselves.

I thought this was such a cute movie! I think perfect timing to do the movie since Hugh Hefner and his ex-girlfriend's are famous with The Girl's Next Door. There are also a lot of Famous Cameos such as Hugh, Bridget, Holly and Kendra and others. It was just a fun movie after work and when you are ready to start the weekend with nothing but a happy ending.

TV Show Review: Snoop Dogg; Fatherhood

Snoop Dogg; Fatherhood Rap Star Snoop Dogg does Reality TV about him and his family.

I Love it. I just think Snoop Dogg is so cute! Not as in like hot or anything but just like a sweet hearted fellow...reminds me of my dad. I think Snoop Dogg has calmed down a lot and is done with all the PIMPin & hardcore attitude and ready to be there for his family, who need him more than Hollywood. I think its just sweet. I have always thought Snoop had a softer side. His family is cute too.

We also have another thing in common. I have always wanted to try fried chicken and waffles and he eats it LOL!

Food Review: Spinach

I LOVE SPINACH! I love it so much that I decided to do a Blog post about it. LOL!

When I grew up my mother used to buy the canned Spinach, like the kind that Popeye eats. I never had much of an opinion about Spinach till now. :D

I now enjoy fresh or frozen Spinach. My favorite is Spinach and Cheese Lasagna and Spinach and Cheese Savorings. I am also trying to look for more Spinach recipes to try. :)

Canned Spinach is not really good and its soggy like.

Sorry Popeye!

It Snowed in Las Vegas and as of a week ago it FINALLY SNOWED IN UTAH!

Winter Weather Hits Las Vegas
The Clark County School District has closed schools for Thursday. Students and teachers do not have to report to school, but the district says all administrators, 12-month employees, and office staff should report to work as usual. No flights are taking off or landing at McCarran International Airport due to poor visibility and flights from around the country that are headed to Las Vegas are being kept on the ground until the weather improves. Ian Gregor with the FAA says McCarran doesn't have any snow removal equipment, so planes can't leave safely. US-95 is closed at Mile Marker 16, just north of Searchlight due to poor road conditions and an accident. Nevada Highway Patrol and NDOT have also closed US-95 at Railroad Pass due to ice and snow.

Wow, I am surprised in Snowed in Vegas. I see that they had shut down schools and such, to me that sounds like something only the South would do LOL. I only remember it snowing in Vegas when I was a kid and I remember a snow flake falling on this piece of junk car. That is as far as my memory goes back of being a kid and living in Las Vegas. (I was born and raised till I was 14 years old and then I had moved to Utah with my family).

Speaking of Utah, it had FINALLY snowed here! I am surprised and hate it. I almost slipped on black ice three times. Its horrible. I love it though because I did want to take snow pictures this year since I do not have any and it is good for Christmas to have snow I guess. You know, White Christmas and all. But because of the part that I dislike about it very much, I was considering buying myself a bath of snow salt and/or good snow boots. Depends. We did go sledding briefly one evening, that was fun. I mostly watched. LOL! And took pictures of course. :)

Tila Tequila: A Shot at Love, MySpace & Hooking up with Tila Tequila

TILA TEQUILA (MySpace) Famous for have over one million friends on MySpace, Shot at Love 1 & 2 with Tequila, her music and now her new book Hooking up with Tila Tequila.

When I first heard of Tila Tequila, when they were doing the reality show about "Shot at Love with Tila Tequila". I thought oh, this is interesting. Then later I realized during the show that I thought she was just a fame whore and a liar. I never really believed that she was bi-sexual when she chose a man, so she lied and then when she did A Shot at Love 2, I thought she was just a fame whore. Anyway for some stupid reason I had her on my Friends List on MySpace. I had kept meaning to delete it and never did.

Then on MySpace she kept talking about her new album and such, which I was like whatever I need to delete you but was too lazy to do. Finally she has this book out called "Hooking up with Tila Tequila". Then I realized there is ONE thing I REALLY admire about her and that is Entrepreneurial spirit. She is a very Enterprising, Industrial woman. I LOVE THAT! That is my DREAM. She is in a way living my dream. Sad huh?

More TWILIGHT News: "Twilight" director won't shoot sequel

"Twilight" director won't shoot sequel Hardwicke, gestures at the premiere of the movie 'Twilight' at the Mann …LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) – "Twilight" director Catherine Hardwicke won't shoot the second picture in the fledgling vampire franchise. Hardwicke had until recently been thought a candidate to direct the sequel, titled "New Moon," but word began to circulate in the industry that her relationship with series producer Summit Entertainment has not always been smooth. On Sunday, Summit confirmed that Hardwicke would not direct the film, saying in a statement that its plans to release the film in late 2009 or early 2010 did not mesh with Hardwicke's required prep time. The picture, whose start date has not yet been set, will nontheless reunite writer Melissa Rosenberg and actors Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart. Summit has not named a new director, but it is likely to want to move relatively quickly on the sequel after the original earned nearly $139 million in three weeks of release. Hardwicke had initially been considered a bold choice for "Twilight." She made her name with indie breakout "Thirteen" and also directed the period religious tale "The Nativity Story." The combination proved winning, though, as the midrange-budgeted "Twilight" became one of the fall's biggest hits."New Moon" is the second installment in Stephenie Meyer's four-book series and also centers on vampires in a small town in Washington state, this time with a more prominent role given to a teenage werewolf. Reuters/Hollywood Reporter

After all the HYPE and Watching the Premiere of Twilight, hearing about getting a new Director sounds like great news! I thought the book and the Twilight series was a very interesting read but when I saw Twilight in the theaters I was truly disappointed. Like I said in my last post, I just wish they it could have flowed better and kept a good part of the story line. Instead it was rushed and choppy.

I think a new director will take a critical look of the movie and do a better job. At least that is what I am hoping. I am not expecting it to be the same, just better. I am going to watch the sequel. I also kind of figured they would get a new director because of the reviews that it got from its critics. I also new that they would rush production to keep the Twilight franchise going...this is not a story you can just sit on. Especially with its huge fan base.

I am looking forward to the sequel and I have not finished reading Breaking Dawn yet, more or less sad its the last book of the series I will be reading :(

Britney's BACK!

Yes after Britney whirlwind couple of years...from shaving her head, have two kids and getting married and divorced...now that she has passed through the bad and good stuff she is ready to get back on track.

Her new CD "Circus" came out today (December 2nd 2008) on her 27th Birthday! Her new song "Womanizer" is a top ten song on the music charts. She did a Documentary "Britney Spears - For the Record" to explain what she has been going through those last couple of years and why she did the things she did. I watched it and think she looks a lot healthier than she has been. No one no longer mocks her and I think she finally has the respect she deserves. Although everyone is demanding her back into the spotlight. I sense though she still just wants a normal life. During her documentary I had watched her and I completely forgot she had children, it was like it was Brand New Britney Spears all over again.

She also has been collaborating with Madonna (my favorite artist of all time). And Madonna says in Britney's documentary that she feels maternal towards her, which I can completely see why.

Anyway HAPPY BIRTHDAY BRITNEY! :)
