I Directed my First Video! LOL

I take lots of pictures, so I was going through my digital and I saw two shots that looked similar and played it back to back and just thought it was hilarious! LOL!

So after I uploaded the pictures onto my computer, I realized on the upper right hand side of the picture that it said "Make a Movie" and started playing with it, with the help of my partner and then I added final touch which was the music and bam published my first movie! So then after I published it I uploaded it onto YouTube.com and have been showing friends and family because I am so amused by it and now I know how to edit and make such movies...so now I am inspired to make more. :)

SO ENJOY! :)

Turkey Leftovers from Thanksgiving

After my initial post on Thanksgiving, I thought I would do a follow-up on Thanksgiving leftovers or Turkey leftovers. I thought I would post a picture of my favorite turkey leftover recipe, although I had mentioned it previously.

Here is the Picture:

And here is the Recipe again:

Turkey Cranberry Wreath:

2 pkg. refrigerated crescent rolls
1/2 C. mayonnaise
2 T. honey Dijon mustard
1/2 tsp. coarsely ground pepper
2 C. cooked turkey, chopped
1/2 C. celery, sliced
3 T. fresh parsley, snipped
1/2 C. dried cranberries
4 oz. Swiss cheese, shredded (1cup)
1/4 C. walnuts, chopped (optional)
1 egg, separated

Preheat oven to 375°F.

Unroll crescent dough; separate into 16 triangles. With wide ends of triangles toward the center. arrange 8 triangles in a circle on Large Round Stone. Corners of wide ends will touch and points will extend 1 inch beyond of baking stone. Arrange remaining 8 triangles in center. matching ends. Seal seams using pizza roller. (Points will overlap in center; do not seal.)

Measure mayonnaise, mustard and black pepper into a bowl. Grate cheese into a bowl. Mix filling. Scoop filling over seams of dough, forming a circle.

Coarsely chop walnuts; sprinkle over filling. Beginning in center, lift one dough triangle across mixture. Continue alternating with outer triangle, slightly overlapping to form wreath. Tuck last end under first.

Separate egg over bowl. Beat egg white lightly; brush over dough. Bake 25-30 minutes or until golden brown. Yields 10 servings.

Restaurant Review: The Mayan Adventure

First of all, I had to take cell phone pictures because I forgot my digital camera at home (which is a first).

Well, we decided to go to The Mayan after a movie since it was right next door. There was a 30-45 minute wait. We had got in to eat at around 30 minutes. When they had seated us it was right in front of the show. The scenery was beautiful, it was like being in a jungle and it was a little humid. Which had a really nice effect. The show was Cliff Divers basically, we got to see it front row, first hand.

We got chips and salsa while we waited for our drinks and to order. They were pretty good. I thought the salsa had a little bit too much lime and cilantro.

We decided to split a Chicken Chimichanga. It came with guacamole, pico de gallo, refried beans and Spanish rice. The chimi was pretty good. The whole meal I could taste a lot of cilantro and lime. The refried beans, I swore though was made from a can. I can tell the difference between real or canned refried beans. The canned refried beans smells like dog food. The Spanish rice was good was good though.

For dessert we decided to get The Mayan special Tres Leches. It was really good. It tasted like real tres leches cake.

Overall I give it 3.5 out of 5 Stars.

Games: Cake Mania 2

I am not much of a Gamer. I remember when I was young, I used to enjoy saving the Princess on the original Mario Bros on Nintendo, then getting into Super Nintendo with Mario Bros. And Tetris. But that was it.

Now, I think I finally found something I enjoy playing. I play with Meez.com a lot so they have games that you can play online. One day I was bored and decided to play Cake Mania 2 (which I think is the same company that invented Diner Dash).

The way you play the game is you make sure that you Profit by making customers cakes and taking care of all the customers at the same time. I love it. I get into it and I think I play pretty well. It can get pretty addicting! I think I have my own system down by now as well. I plan to get it on my DS.

Events: BLACK FRIDAY

Tomorrow is Black Friday. What exactly is Black Friday? According to Wikipedia "Black Friday is the Friday after Thanksgiving in the United States, where it is the beginning of the traditional Christmas shopping season. Since Thanksgiving falls on the fourth Thursday in November in the United States, Black Friday may be as early as the 23rd and as late as the 29th of November."

I haven't ever gone shopping on Black Friday. For one, I like to sleep in because it is a Holiday and two, I would not even know what I would WANT or NEED to buy. Although one day, I would like to try it. :)

Update on TWILIGHT Hype!

Well, I had watched the Movie. I am on Book 4 BREAKING DAWN of the Twilight Saga.

The Movie Twilight brought in over $70 Million its Opening Weekend!

They have also confirmed that there will be a Sequel New Moon movie in the works for the Twilight series.

Also Stephenie Meyer had stated that she will not work on Midnight Sun (5th book in series) for another couple of years or probably not at all...

So that wraps it up for now...I am still cozily reading Breaking Dawn, which I think is the most compelling of all the books. Stephenie Meyer also inspires me to write a short story or two as well.

Wendover, Nevada

I like going to Casinos and I like Gambling. I was born and raised in Las Vegas (which doesn't really make a difference). Well anyway since I have moved to Utah, I can only make to Las Vegas once or twice a year. So, I did discover while growing up here in Utah that there is this magic place that Utahns go for a quick gamble and that is Wendover, Nevada. Which is only 1.5 hour drive. Its the only way Utahn's can have some excitement! (But there are still a lot of fun things to do here).

My History of Gambling:

When it was first legal for me to gamble at the age of 21, I had started playing 25 cent Video Poker. The reason why I did it, is because that is what I had learned from my parents to play....I thought it was starting to get boring but didn't know what else to do...

Then I learned from a friend, who had taken the fun bus with me, I learned about $5 Blackjack! Wow, that was awesome. I would ONLY play $5 and win and people at the tables would talk about me like I was crazy! I am a risk taker but I am not going to get greedy and start betting more! Then I was done with slots completely and stuck with Blackjack.

Then, I met my partner, who taught me how to play dollar slots. At first I was like $1? Why a dollar? Then my partner explained why he played a dollar. I thought it made sense. Because then you basically know exactly how much your credits are worth. Well, anyway the time we went to Vegas and I played the dollar slots...I put in $20 and kept making $200 and then leaving with $1,000! It was freakin awesome! :)

Now things are a bit different...I had went on the Fun Bus this weekend. Which I love because they drive you to Wendover from Salt Lake, its only $15 and you get $5 Cash back, a FREE Buffet (Valued at $17) and a Coupon Book.

All I remember about the whole experience this time was losing $60 in 5 minutes at the dollar slots doing max bet, eating a delicious buffet and win $30 at the penny slots.

I was really down after I had lost at the HIGH LIMIT $1 slots. Plus I had to be careful not to spend more money and needed to kill time in the process before the bus was ready to go back to Utah. So, I decided to spend my last .89 cents at the penny machine. The first penny machine I had used on my dollar I didn't do very good, the second one I KEPT WINNING and it built my self back up again! :D I kept Winning at this machine called "RED ROOSTER". I kept getting, 100, 200, 500, and a 700 Credits! It was great and I was doing it for over two hours. The reason why I chose the Rooster, is because our Kitchen is covered in Rooster and my partner's hair looks like a Rooster when he does it LOL!!! Also the penny machine games I think are hilarious because you don't understand how to win and yet you keep winning! (because you are matching weird things that don't make sense) LOL!

Anyway that was my experience this time and it was truly fun! :)

Restaurant Review: The Cheesecake Factory

I have ate at Cheesecake Factory a few times and love it. I just never took a chance to do a review on it. When I first ate at The Cheesecake Factory it was in Las Vegas, Nevada. It was a very busy place!

Then they decided to add a location to Utah. I was kind of surprised. But the Utah location is just as busy as the Nevada location.

Anyway what I always get at The Cheesecake Factory is the Tex Mex Egg Rolls for an appetizer (they taste better in Las Vegas), Orange Chicken and White Rice as a Entree and Cheesecake for the dessert. I love their restaurant.

My only disappointment is that they are no longer serving Tres Leches Cheesecake. :( So far I have emailed Corporate twice. I hope they bring it back soon.

I do recommend visiting The Cheesecake Factory though! :)

Ah, to have the Life of a Cat

You know indoor house cats have the best and easiest life. I had been thinking lately how easy my cat has it. While I get up early in the morning to get ready for work, my cat is stretched out in the sunlight of the sliding glass door. When its time for me to go to sleep, my cat is zooming through the front living room, climbing on the counters when she is not supposed to, etc...

Most cats I think are pampered by their owners. We give our cat wet food treat all three days of the weekend. She loves it.

I would love to be a cat. Sleep all day, eat and then play when I get bored. Cats are lazy too. They do whatever they want to do. I sometimes act like one LOL! When I get home from work, I just want to do whatever I want to do (after the responsibilities like bathe and feed my daughter).

Sigh, to be a Cat...

Movie Review: TWILIGHT

What Movie Twilight is about Basically a Mortal falls in love with a Vampire and the setting takes place in Forks, WA and they are both in a High School Setting. Based on the Best Selling Novel "Twilight" Aurthur Stephenie Meyer

The Premiere for the movie was Friday, November 21st 2008. I have never been to a Premiere of a movie before or read a book and watched a movie based on a book before. So it was all new to me. Let me tell you though, when you go to a Premiere with Tweeny Boppers boy-vampire crazy girls you hear a lot screaming while you are trying to enjoy your movie LOL.

I am a big fan of the book Twilight and the series. I even bought the shirt. As you can tell. Reading the Twilight series does want me to break out my V.C. Andrews books again though. I almost done with the book series.

Anyway onto my Review! :D

I Rate it a C or 3 Stars.

The reason is because I felt like the movie was rushed, the scenes were combined and choppy. I did not feel any chemistry between Edward and Bella. I know its not going to be like the book, but they still could have made the movie better. I thought Rob tried to hard to be Edward. Bella emotions I think were all wrong, although her face fit the part.

What I liked was the characters. Alice was just adorable. I loved the trees. I think they made the Vampires look beautiful and strong like they should be.

Would I watch it again? YES
Would I buy the DVD? YES
Would I recommend it: Yes sort of LOL
Will I watch the Sequels? YES, in fact a Sequel for NEW MOON is in the works.

The thrill begins when a new vampire finds it a challenge to hunt Bella down for her irresistible blood. The game is on and James will not stop until she is killed. Written by courtney.

After Reading Twilight. I am just so excited to watching the Premiere of the Movie! I have never watched a movie based on a book, so like I said in my last post, this will be new for me.

The movie is getting a lot of HYPE nowadays...there are raging fans all over the internet, with their chosen Teams (Team Edward or Team Jacob). I am Team Switzerland (LOL!). This last weekend, the excitement has really caught on for myself as well! I went to Hot Topic and bought myself a t-shirt to wear on the premiere on the Friday, November 21st 2008. I bought the third book (Eclipse). I have also been reading a lot of the spoilers of the series. (I cannot help it, I am not good with surprises). I also are telling a lot of people need to read the books and watch the movie. I haven't been this excited about something since The 4400! :). I figured I needed to throw myself into something again that I can enjoy.

I also decided to separate the book from the movie so I will not be disappointed. I will be taking a lot of pictures of the premiere and post them here! This will be fun! I am glad my Partner seems as excited as I am, about the books and movie.

I really hope Stephenie Meyer continues with the book series. From the Spoilers I read, I don't think its the end...a Story is never ending though :)

Anyway stay tuned... ;)

TV Show Review: Girls Next Door

GIRLS NEXT DOOR ON E! Playmate Girlfriend's of the Famous Creator of Playboy Magazine

I love this show! I think this is my next favorite show next to the Anna Nicole Smith show (Before she passed, RIP Anna).

I think all of the girls are unique. Kendra is the sporty, Bridget is the Halloweenish/Theme girl, I think she is the most fun and sweet. Then there is Holly Madison, the Princess. She is all into being a Princess!

My favorite at first...was Holly, but now I realize I like Bridget more because she is kind and fun. I think Kendra has an hilarious laugh and is a little crazy!

I don't think I have a favorite episode. I like all the episodes.

I am really sad that all the girls in the end all broke up with Hef. :( I know it wouldn't be like that forever but still...sometimes you just don't expect things to change.

I think this maybe the last season of the show. I am not sure what season we are watching right now? I think its Season 5. LOL!

I am surprised that Hugh Hefner does not want to be remarried, since he is in his 80's.I know Holly was really counting on that, but in the end realized its not going to happen and that is why they broke up.

Another thing about his age. He is in 80's, I think everyone will be sad the day he passes because he has been around forever. Long Live Hugh Hefner!

But I think the show is very entertaining! I will always watch the reruns.

TV Show Review: Jon and Kate Plus 8

JON & KATE PLUS 8 ON TLC The reality show about the family with multiples.

When I first heard about this show, I wasn't that interested. I had briefly thought about it and then passed on it.

Then recently, since I have Cable we have not been able to find many things to watch. So we started watching Little People Big World, then not really paying attention Jon & Kate Plus 8 would come on after.

I thought it appealing. I think the relationship between Jon & Kate is interesting, and like any marriage I hope they are married forever. (You can hope that with the high rates of divorce and it did cross my mind). I am glad with the newer episode on how they are renewing their vows in Hawaii. That I think was awesome.

There is also a lot of speculation surrounding Jon & Kate plus 8. Such as the Nanny family member who was shunned from the show because I guess TLC had offered her money but I guess Kate would have rather paid a Nanny? Or how Kate is awful to Jon and is a control freak. At first I wanted to judge but then I decided its not my place, and we really don't know what goes on, every family is different etc...

The Kids - I think they are adorable and they are good children. Its hard raising kids. I raise one, one or eight its never easy and does get stressful. But I think they (Jon & Kate) make a good attempt at giving each individual kid attention and are not trying to make more children. Its important to focus on the ones you have before you pop out more.

Overall I think it is a good show :)

I give it 4 out of 5 Stars

Where is the Winter? Snow?

I am a little perplexed right now and scratching my head, trying to figure out where Winter is?

See I live in Utah. Its supposed to SNOW here. Its Mid-November and still hardly any Snow! I work in Customer Service and when people ask me where I am from, I tell them Utah and then they ask me how the weather is here and if I ski. I say well, its pretty sunny here, almost like SUMMER, and no there is hardly ANY Snow right now.

Now ironically I am not a huge fan of Cold, or Winter, or Snow. I would rather have Winter now though and get it over with. I don't Ski, Snowboard, or anything like that. Though if I were to try anything, it would Sledding and Snowmobiling.

In High School, when I lived in the colder front of Utah (up in the mountains practically). It would snow a lot. I used to slip a lot on the ice and hated it. I would always slip on icy stairs...Ugh I shudder at the thought thinking of it now.

I am sure we will get snow by Christmas though. I also have been wanting to take pictures in the snow. Since I love taking pictures! :)

Well there you have it! Snowless? Winter.

Food Review: Pillsbury Savorings Cheese & Spinach

Flaky Pastry Bites from Pillsbury.

I had kept seeing a coupon in the paper for them and was anxious to try them - the Cheese & Spinach. They were not available for a while, but then when they finally did come out I had to settle for the Buffalo Style Chicken which I did not like too much. Sadly. :(

I had to wait a couple more weeks before I could actually try the Cheese and Spinach and they were absolutely divine! Plus I had a coupon, which made it ever better! :) Not all stores carry them. I had to get mine at Albertson's and weirdly enough WALMART Super Center still does not have them!

They come 12 to a box, you can cook them either in your oven or toaster oven. They are positively delicious! :)

Reading Third Installment in Twilight Series - Eclipse

After seeing what all the hoopla was about with the Twilight by Stephenie Meyer, I am now hooked! I am now on Book 3 of the 4 Twilight Series.

I also bought my tickets and t-shirt for the Premiere of the Movie "Twilight". I AM REALLY EXCITED! I will be posting pictures and I will be doing a movie review once I have viewed it. You can guarantee it. :) I am going to separate myself though from the movie and book so that I can enjoy it and not do any comparing to the book. I have never read a book first before seeing a movie, so this will be an interesting experiment/experience for me.

I have been paying more attention to vampires and the different teams are involved in this book also. I am not into the Teams, like Team Edward or Team Jacob but if I were I guess I would have to go with Team Edward. I also did something research on actual "Vampires" and it just ended up being more or less of a joke.

Here is a picture of me in my robe and with my cup of coffee reading the new Eclipse. I am going to try to take my time reading since I don't have very many books left. The movie comes out in 4 DAYS!

Are you excited about seeing the movie?

Restaurant Review: Ruby Tuesday

I haven't done a Restaurant review in a while. So here it is!

I have never been to Ruby Tuesday before that day that I went. But I think its supposed to be comparable to a Chili's or an Applebee's.

We had a Gift Card to eat there, so we used that to pay for our food. The first thing I noticed was there were not many people at the restaurant, which I found to be a little bizarre. Plus before going to the place, I had not heard very many good reviews about the restaurant. But I tried to not let that influence MY opinion about the food or place itself.

For an Appetizer we got this Cheese Spinach for the restaurant style chips. They were pretty good. We decided to split the Mini Trio for the Entree. It came with three different mini cheeseburgers and seasoned french fries. The hamburgers were pretty good, the southern cheddar mini burger I think is the one I like the most. For dessert, we had this chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. It was good also, it had this raspberry sauce with it, which made it more unique than what I was used to eating at the usual restaurants I go to.

This may not be a good review because it had been a couple of weeks since we ate at the restaurant (maybe even longer). I will try to keep my restaurant reviews more fresh though in the future.

I give the Ruby Tuesday restaurant 3 1/2 out of 5 Stars.

Book Review: Cooked by Jeff Henderson

Cooked: From the Streets to the Stove, from Cocaine to Foie Gras From Publishers Weekly
How one of San Diego's most successful cocaine dealers became an award-winning chef [...] is the question that drives this sporadically inspired memoir. Henderson got his start dealing when his family moved to San Diego and he fell in with two street thugs. At age 25, after amassing a small fortune in drug money, Henderson was arrested, convicted and sentenced to 19 years in prison; once there, he discovered a love for cooking that gave him much-needed direction. After serving nine years, Henderson got an early release and began a series of grueling, occasionally demeaning jobs in kitchens, eventually working his way up to leading roles in Caesars Palace Hotel and elsewhere. Unfortunately, Henderson's story rings truest before he turns to the culinary; the fascinating level of detail in his description of the drug trade dissipates when it comes to the intricacies of working in and running a kitchen, lending his redemption a hollow feel. In addition, Henderson's casual reference to methods and equipment particular to the industry may leave amateur foodies nonplussed. While Henderson's achievements deserve recognition, this rushed retelling makes it difficult to fully appreciate his hard work.

I had first of Chef Jeff Henderson on the Food Network, he did a short 30 minute spiel about his life and how he aspired to be a Chef. So I was so inspired by his story that I decided to buy his Autobiography for myself and my dad.

The story is so intriguing. I could not put the book down! It was so easy to escape into and easy to read. I read the book, I think less than two weeks. My Partner also read the book and enjoyed as well. My dad is still slowly reading it.

Its a true rags to riches story that shows no matter where you are in life you can always change it and live for the better. I think Chef Jeff is really inspiring out there for those that are struggling and still trying to take control of their lives. The point is, it CAN be done. The saying goes: "If your mind can conceive it; your heart can believe; then YOU can achieve it".

I thought this product would be perfect for me because I disgustingly manage to always have dead skin on my feet, plus I LOVE "AS SEEN ON TV" Products. So I decided to purchase it at Linen's and Things for $10.00. I also decided to buy the Pink Pedegg because the Telebrands (the company who sells the Pedegg) is going to donate up to $50,000 for Breast Cancer research and I love the color Pink. :)

So anyway I tried the Product today and was sadly disappointed. I give it 2 1/2 out of 5 Stars.

The portability of the pedegg is good. I think the blades need to be sharper plus it needs to hold the shavings of the dead skin better. The presentation of the product is nice of course.

In conclusion, they could have made the product a little better.

Energy drinks makes Kids Sick

Energy Drinks Make Students Ill at Prom TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — Officials at the American Christian Academy are considering banning energy drinks after one student was hospitalized and several others became ill after drinking too many of the drinks during the school's annual prom trip.

I was not really surprised to see that drinking an energy drink would make these kids get sick at Prom. I just wondered exactly how many they drank and why.

The only time I have ever got sick from an energy drink was when I was drinking Full Throttle (my fave energy drink) and Jaegar combined for a Jaegar Bomber (I cannot remember exactly the name its been a while since I have drank them). And that was just vomiting. I also got sick from Mountain Dew, which I think can be classified as "Energy" drink, because of how much caffeine is in it. I had drank some and got sick while drinking it when I was at one of my high school dances.

My new favorite energy drink that I like is the Coffee one, its called Monster or Java Monster or something like that. I think they are yummy! My mom actually got me into those.

I think the best time to drink energy drinks is when I need to clean the house and I am too lazy to. Although I have not had one in a while to clean.

I think energy drinks are really popular because (aside from the fact that they give you energy) but also because of the cool names that they come up with and the wild colors that they use for the cans.

But again with the moderation, when it comes to things like that. And of course do not combine them with anything else like alcohol, drugs or prescription drugs when using. :)

Aspiring Chef dies from eating Red Hot Chili Sauce

Keen cook died after eating red-hot chilli sauce as a dare
An aspiring chef died after eating a super-hot chilli sauce as part of an endurance competition with a friend.

The reason why I had decided to post and discuss this article - is for a silly reason, well not really silly but in a sense if it could happen moment...

I am a HUGE fan of spicy food. I have a jar of chopped jalapeno peppers in my fridge that I use on sandwiches, hot dogs, hamburgers, pizza and whatever else I can think of...I also have a bottle of Tapacio (sp?) sauce for my soups like Top Ramen, Mac & Cheese etc... I Love Authentic Mexican food, which most of what I eat with my tacos is spicy...ironically I never get heart burn or have acid reflux.

Well anyway, last night I was feeling really sick, like I had a fire ball in my stomach, seriously it was awful and it made me wonder if it was either because of all the spicy food I constantly eat or the soda I drink (Dr. Pepper). Anyway, during that time I had an Epiphany which inspired this article. LOL.

Anyway I think its important to eat spicy food in moderation so you can avoid any type of health problems. Like the poor guy who had died from eating the red spicy chili.

Thomas Beatie; Pregnant Man is Pregnant Again!

Pregnant Man Pregnant Again Days before the premier of the "Pregnant Man" documentary Discovery Health Channel, Thomas Beatie announced that he's pregnant once more with a baby due in June 2009. In PREGNANT MAN, Discovery Health presents the only documentary featuring professional footage of Thomas and his wife, Nancy, through the final weeks of his first pregnancy, the landmark birth of their first child and their eventual return home.

First I think its wonderful selfless act that this man would have a baby because his wife couldn't. Yes, I understand that this man used to be female, but I also know a lot about the transgendered male because my partner is also a transgendered male.

I think it was smart that they decided to get pregnant one last time before Thomas decided to get back on his male hormones.

Thomas Beatie and his wife was featured on Oprah and People Magazine and caused a lot of media attention. Claiming that he was no man and that he is really a female. You know, if someone knows who they are on the inside that is not the same as what we all see on the outside. Its not the same for everyone.

Having a partner that is transgendered male I feel like I have a better understanding of how there could be so many misunderstandings of sex. But in the end, You are what You are and no one can tell you what you are.

A Cure for AIDS?

Did a Bone Marrow Transplant Cure a Cancer Patient of AIDS? A 42-year-old man who had both leukemia and AIDS received a bone marrow transplant — a common, late-stage treatment for that type of cancer. His doctor selected a bone marrow donor who had a rare genetic mutation that renders people virtually immune to HIV. The transplant appeared to cure the patient of AIDS. We’re as wary as the next guy of inferring too much from a single case study. Maybe it was a fluke; maybe there were unknown factors at work. But this one is pretty intriguing.

I was quite surprised when I read that there *might* be a Cure for AIDS. After all, its been a long time since you we haven't really learned anything.

It also made me think about the time how everyone always wondered, how come they have a cure for everything else BUT AIDS? Is AIDS some kind of Conspiracy to die off the Gays and Blacks in the USA?

I don't know anyone personally with AIDS, but it is a very serious life threatening disease that can kill your loved ones slowly.

I honestly am still a bit skeptical that this could be true. But still feel good that we still have HOPE.

Movie Review: Changeling

IMDB Plot Summary "Inspired by actual events that occurred in 1920s-era Los Angeles, Clint Eastwood's "Changeling" tells the story of a woman driven to confront a corrupted LAPD after her abducted son is retrieved and she begins to suspect that the boy returned to her is not the same boy she gave birth to. The year was 1928, and the setting a working-class suburb of Los Angeles. As Christine (Angelina Jolie) said goodbye to her son, Walter, and departed for work, she never anticipated that this was the day her life would be forever changed. Upon returning home, Christine was distressed to discover that Walter was nowhere to be found. Over the course of the following months, the desperate mother would launch a search that would ultimately prove fruitless. Yet just when it seemed that all hope was lost, a nine-year-old boy claiming to be Christine's son seemed to appear out of thin air. Overcome with emotions and uncertain how to face the authorities or the press, Christine invites the child to stay in her home despite knowing without a doubt that he is not her son. As much as Christine would like to accept the fact that her son has been returned to her, she cannot accept the injustice being pushed upon her and continues to challenge the Prohibition-era Los Angeles police force at every turn. As a result, Christine is slandered by the powers that be, and painted as an unfit mother. In this town, a woman who challenges the system is putting her life on the line, and as the situation grows desperate, the only person willing to aid her in her search is benevolent local activist Reverend Briegleb (John Malkovich)."

First of all, this movie brought me to tears many times. Just like "The Orphanage" it is so hard for a mother to lose a child. Being a mother myself, I could just not handle even the thought. I am a very protective mother. My daughter is my life. In the movie, the character "Christine Collins" was a single mom. I was too at one point. All you think about is going to work and then coming home and taking care of your child. To one day have your child not be home when you are home and for them to not come back would cause me to have a nervous breakdown. I cannot believe that the LAPD would then turn around and say that they had found her child, when in fact, a mother would know what and WHO her own child IS! I am going all over the place with my opinion on the movie but I do not care!

I was really astounded by everything surrounding Christine Collin's case. From the LAPD trying to cover up their mistake by finding the WRONG child, to the serial killer who had been killing the boys around town. Then after all of that, in the middle being thrown into the Psycho Hospital because you are denying your fake son! I think though she was brave and won in the end, even though she never found her son.

I think Angelina Jolie portrayed Christine Collins very well.

Thanksgiving

ORIGIN OF THANKSGIVING

I Love Thanksgiving. It is my favorite Holiday of the year. Turkey, Stuffing, Mashed Potatoes, Cranberry Sauce and Pumpkin Pie. What I like to do is put Turkey, Stuffing, Mashed Potatoes & Cranberry sauce on my fork and eat it. :)

Every year at my Job I get a Turkey for Christmas. My Partner works for the same place so we get two Turkeys for Christmas and STILL have to buy a Turkey for Thanksgiving. ITS UNREAL!

I also have a recipe that I like to make with the Turkey. Its called a Turkey Wreath. I learned about it when I went to a Pampered Chef Party a long time ago.

"Turkey Cranberry Wreath:

2 pkg. refrigerated crescent rolls
1/2 C. mayonnaise
2 T. honey Dijon mustard
1/2 tsp. coarsely ground pepper
2 C. cooked turkey, chopped
1/2 C. celery, sliced
3 T. fresh parsley, snipped
1/2 C. dried cranberries

Per serving: 363 calories; 17 g protein; 24g fat; 20g carbohydrates; 521 mg sodium"

One year I had Ham and I was very disappointed. I cannot eat anything other than Turkey for Thanksgiving. My Partner also has this Rosemary Turkey recipe. It makes the turkey DELICIOUS!

Happy Turkey Day! :)

California Proposition 8

According to LA Times Voters approve Proposition 8 banning same-sex marriages. .

In case you have been living under a rock for the last year, you may have not heard that originally California had announced that their will be Same-Sex Marriage. Ellen DeGeneres and her long time girlfriend Portia De Rossi tied the knot. It was really a sweet union for a beautiful couple who LOVE each other and want to spend the rest of their lives together. We also elected Barrack Obama for President. Some people were not happy and began Proposition 8. The Votes finally came in and decided for Proposition 8 - Banning of Same-Sex Marriage.

Now before I begin, I do recall my initial post staying out of Politics and Religion but now I have had a change of heart. I will tell you what I think :)

MY THOUGHTS:

1) First of all whether or not you think Same-Sex Marriage is Right or Wrong, it is still not your decision to decide for someone how they should live their life. Just plain WRONG.

2) I agree I feel like we did take one big step for mankind by electing Obama for President. But I think with Prop 8 we did take one step back.

I think everyone needs to think about the choices that they make and how it affects others. You took away someones right and their freedom by saying YES to Proposition 8.

Book Review: Twilight by Stephenie Meyer

Amazon.com Review
"The book that started the phenomenon is now available in a deluxe collector's edition! Featuring a ribbon bookmark, cloth cover, ragged edges, new chapter opener designs, and a beautiful protective slipcase, this edition is perfect for fans and collectors alike.Bella Swan's move to Forks, a small, perpetually rainy town in Washington, could have been the most boring move she ever made. But once she meets the mysterious and alluring Edward Cullen, Bella's life takes a thrilling and terrifying turn. Up until now, Edward has managed to keep his vampire identity a secret in the small community he lives in, but now nobody is safe, especially Bella, the person Edward holds most dear.Deeply romantic and extraordinarily suspenseful, Twilight captures the struggle between defying our instincts and satisfying our desires. This is a love story with bite.

Ok I first heard about this book at work, I kept seeing it on a few womens' desk I would pass on my way to lunch and wonder WTF? For weeks I had seen it and not really took the initiative to see what the book is about. Well, my one of my online groups kept mentioning the book as well and I finally asked someone at work what the book is about and they told me that is a love story between a vampire and mortal. Now I am not into vampires very much but I was really intrigued by the popularity and decided to purchase it. Well it two days I am now up to Chapter 11. The book was also so popular they decided to do a movie (of course) and I will be watching that as well when I finish the book.

There are also 3 or 4 other books in the series. I will be reading those as well. :)

My opinion of the book so far is, it is different than anything I have ever read. The main characters are not your typical characters. I still think I need to read more of the series in order to form a solid opinion. But I will keep you Updated :)

2008 Election - New President Barrack Obama

Yes the 2008 Election for the New President of the United States was on Tuesday, November 4th 2008. It was Obama vs McCain and it was a close call between Democrat and Republican.

I almost decided not to the vote that day for the simple fact that I did not want to be late for work. SERIOUSLY. I am already in enough hot water! If there was a line, I told my partner I was going to be out of there. But SURPRISINGLY there was no line and it took me only 5 minutes to do.

I thought both candidates were interesting, although I was leaning more towards the other. Although I do not consider myself a Democrat nor Republican.

Well Barrack Obama WON! And McCain conceded gracefully. Both Candidates showed class during this election, although I don't think the voters who voted for McCain did.

I think we did make history this Election and I honestly would have been surprised at either candidate that would have Won.

Toastmaster Coffee Mug Warmer

I LOVE drinking Coffee and Surfing on my Pink Dell Laptop. Well, since I spend so much time focusing on what I am looking at, blogging about, designing etc...I usually forget to drink my coffee and by the time I am ready to take a sip, it is already cold! Which is annoying. So for weeks I kept saying I was going to get a Coffee Mug Warmer, and last weekend I finally did! I bought it with my Bed, Bath & Beyond Gift Card that I got for my Birthday at BB&B and it only cost $9.99 (online I have seen it cost more).

Well, I have been using it for the past few days and let me tell you it works great! So if you are Coffee Lover and like to keep your coffee warm then I recommend you get one. No more having to microwave your coffee, throwing it out or warming it up a bit. Well worth the price! I feel I already got my money's worth. :)
