Barbie

When I was a little girl, I used to LOVE to play with Barbie. I never really thought of her proportions or anything growing up and I really enjoyed my dolls. If I remember, I had A LOT of Barbie dolls.

A few things changed about Barbie throughout the years that had really surprised me. One, they had a pregnant Barbie, being a teen or a tween (I cannot remember which) I was really shocked that they would impregnate the icon.

Then since it left a lot of negativity for young girls growing up regarding her 'proportions' (we'll say) they decided to change some things on the upper portion of her body. It also seems they have distorted her face somehow too? I personally don't like neither of the two changes. They make her look weird. Now its impossible to find the type of doll I was used to growing up, unless I were to look on eBay.

My daughter now plays with Barbie, we had bought her some for Christmas. I forgot how impossible it is to the dress the doll. But I am looking for my own doll so I can play with my Barbie because it is still fun to dress them.

I am also not too happy about the new Cabbage Patch Kids. But thats a whole 'nother Post ;)

Starbucks closes staff for Retraining

(Property of Comcast.net/AP)

First, Starbucks sales have been declining, then Starbucks closes for national company staff retraining today? I am not sure having a hard time finding the date. A lot of competitors took advantage of the fact that they had to close for retraining and either gave away coffee or sold it for cheap.

Anyway, believe or not, just this year I started drinking outside coffee...but being a huge coffee freak that I am I am surprised I hadn't drank at various coffee locations like Starbucks or Beans and Brew.

I don't quite understand the decline in the Starbucks craze...maybe it just losing its flavor...LOL no pun intended...the quality still tastes fine to me...I do prefer Beans and Brew sometimes because I get a Rewards card and I am all about the rewards and plus their coffee is good and its something different. Dunkin Donuts coffee, I am sorry but they suck, McDonalds coffee is actually really good and I LOVE 7-11 Coffee! But that is just my opinion ;)

Me at Work/Black Monday

It was Black Monday...how I remember it was Black Monday, I was wearing my black shirt and work pants. Why is it Black Monday? Well, it means one, I have to go back to work, two I hate working for someone else so I have to show my rebellion somehow...I don't plan on working for someone forever so it will always be Black Monday for me till I never have to work for anyone again.

I AM FAMOUS!

Adventures at Krispy Kreme!

Today we decided to wake up and take a 25 minute drive to Krispy Kreme but we had fun the first time we went and also had coupons from the paper for 'buy one dozen and get the second dozen for free', we both had a coupon each and bought a total of 4 dozen, 2 assorted and 2 original glaze and gave some to our parents.

To our dismay though, they had no 'hot' donuts until 5pm and we didn't plan on waiting that long because we had grocery shopping to do and everything else. They also had no ice in their machine and their soda was flat. But as you can see it was still a fun adventure. :)

We will be going back again in the future. :)

Dr. Pepper and Chocolate

Another one of my favorite things in the world is Dr. Pepper and milk chocolate candy bars.

I am VERY picky about my chocolate though. The chocolate needs to be milk chocolate and that is why I initially chose Hershey's but then I had better than Hershey's, SWISS milk chocolate.

Growing up my grandparents used to bring chocolate from Germany when they would come and visit and it was best chocolate ever! Then they moved to the United States and that ended that. :(

But as an adult I lived in Mexico and they had milk chocolate also and it was delicious!!! I would like to figure out the name to have it imported! :D

Pictured is the current milk chocolate I eat now which is Swiss Chocolate from IKEA.

JALAPENO JELLY!

I love this stuff. For months I had wanted to get a jar of jalapeƱo jelly online, but then I moved to the Billing Dept at work and it turns out my advisor's sister made it! So I was excited and bought my very first jar - Blackberry. We had finished the whole jar through the holidays and were anxious to buy another one. So I then had purchased 'Sweet Mother of Onion", then we were hooked! So we decided to practically buy a case of every flavor that there was! :)

We eat it with Crescent rolls, biscuits and sausage balls. We are going to try it with other types of food too. :)

I am such a foodie! If you want to try it Click HERE

Ever only LOVE one Pair of Shoes?

Ok first of all, I HATE buying shoes, its the worst torture my mother likes to put me through when we go shopping together because she cannot stand my old work shoes above.

I LOVE THOSE SHOES! They even work through snow (which means no slipping and I hate slipping!). I didn't realize how bad that they have been damaged till I looked at them closely a couple of days ago and because I can feel the snow and wet enter in my feed when I walk. Bad huh? LOL.

I have had those shoes for about 3 years, I had bought them at Payless with my mother and of course and I have not worn another pair since (unless its the weekend, I wear other shoes).

Last year I had went to Vegas and had them shined! That was a great experience! :D I also have a picture, just not sure where it is.

Anyway, I feel the end is near with my shoes - just look at the damage :P

*Cracks at the bottom of both feet
*On one side is a tear along the sole.

But they really are Great shoes and I REALLY hate Shoe Shopping! :P

Superbowl

(Property of MSNBC.com)

Today is SuperBowl Sunday. I have never been a huge fan of football and of course the Super Bowl. I think its a great day to snack out on or have a little party but other than that I really do not get into it. Today I will be doing nothing but cleaning house and relaxing before work tomorrow.

I think the Patriots are playing against...let me see...Oh Patriots vs Giants. See how much I know about this stuff. I really don't see what the big deal is with football. I think it maybe fun to bet on but I am not making any bets. :P For one, I don't know enough about neither one of the teams and I have no one to bet with.

I think the Super Bowl is mainly memorable for their Commercials and Janet Jackson/Justin Timberlake moment. : D

Anyway enjoy The SuperBowl.

I LOVE MEEZ.com!

La Frontera - Mixed Reviews

Today we went to La Frontera for Lunch. We originally had planned to go to the India House because we had a coupon and they were New but they were not open until 5pm. We of course had planned on a lunch date because the child was with the grandparents.

Now me, being a HUGE Fan of Mexican Food and since I had previously tried La Frontera, with ok Review thought that I would try it again.

Well it was still ok. I was a little confused though.

La Frontera in spanish means 'The Border' which I understood completely. :P But being so, I guess I had a little less confusion and more reasoning why the food tasted the way it did.

Anyway, I live in the Utah and everyone talks up and down about La Frontera. I had high expectations when I originally went to La Frontera and was disappointed because the food tasted 'ok'.

So my partner had never tried it but everyone except myself and his mother had talked the restaurant up also. I am thinking its a Utah thing.

Anyway so we go and I get a smothered burrito with cheese, menudo and a Dr. Pepper. My Partner gets Cheesy Enchiladas and Chicken Flautas.

When we arrive we are sitted immediately and then they bring us the nachos with NO Salsa. We are a little confused and decided to order salsa because the chips were good but dry without it. (After the waitress brings us our drinks and we order we learn that salsa is in ketchup like bottles and that there was a small bowl that came with our utensils and napkin).

I put the salsa in the bowl and try it and discover its Spicy. I was really surprised. Not that I don't eat spicy food because that is all I eat, I was just really shocked because the food was 'Americanized' and not all authentic ingredients so I assumed that the salsa would have been dull. Boy was I wrong!

Then our food came. I first had the smothered burrito. The smothered burrito was good (which is a popular item at La Frontera) but again, I was surprised because it was covered with chili verde, which is also what I wanted to order but did not want to overdue it. It was actually good. I ate about half of it while I waited for my menudo.

My menudo came and it was authentic menudo but I was surprised again that it was spicy and it had bits of bosole in it. When I lived in Mexico and ate menudo or bosole it was never spicy just seasoned well. But I do recall that Mexican's from 'The Border' like Nogales or Tijuana or Chihuahua like to mix menudo and bosole together but I don't ever recall that they make their recipes spicy.

Oh also about the menudo and about the restaurant, they did not use CORN TORTILLAS! Not even for the menudo. I was sad, plus their tortillas, which we were thinking were homemade tasted weird.

But rating from 1 being Awful and 5 being Excellent
I rate La Frontera 2.5 Stars **
Comments = I thought the restaurant was trying NOT to be authentic. Meaning they were at some points and others, left me confused.

Britney Spears goes Ballistic

(Property of TheHollywoodGossip.com)

First Britney's parents had her committed to the Psychiatric hospital, they get rid of Sam Lufti and take her her estate and now she is P'OD!

Read more of story HERE

Wow, I cannot how bad things have gotten for Britney Spears! I am really surprised by how all has gone down ever since she married Mr. Federline. Not that he is to blame but that is WHEN things started to go down. I believe she went crazy when she learned what her parents did. But if she cannot control her own life then of course everyone else will. I don't know, I like to be in control of my life.

I really feel sorry for her and her family. I am glad that they finally diagnosed her for Bi-Polar. I hope she gets the right attention she needs soon. Being a mother myself, I hope when she is well that she will regain custody of her children again. They need their mommy!

I have been a HUGE Fan of Madonna for a LONG TIME. I was in her fan club for two years when I was in High School. I am still a fan. I think Madonna deserves all the Success she has received in her years as a Pop Star and she had handled her stardom very well. I think she is really respectable and has always followed the beat of her own drum. I love people like her who don't always follow the crowd.

So, Congratulations Madonna! :)
